Marta Gawin

Marta Gawin Ph.D. (ORCID ID: 0000-0002-2834-5129) graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, major: chemistry, specialization: chemical analytics. In 2010, she defended her doctoral dissertation at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University, and started working at the Laboratory of High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry of the Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University, where she analyzed low and high molecular weight compounds using MALDI time-of-flight mass spectrometry technique (MALDI-TOF MS). In April 2015, she joined the Laboratory of Clinical Proteomics at the Center for Translational Research and Molecular Biology of Cancer of Maria Skłodowska-Curie Memorial Cancer Center and Institute of Oncology Gliwice Branch, where she worked as a post-doctoral researcher in scientific projects focused on mass spectrometry-based proteomic research. Since 2020 she has been working as an assistant professor at the Center for Translational Research and Molecular Biology of Cancer. Dr. Gawin’s main interests include application of MALDI imaging mass spectrometry in cancer research, and advanced methods of preparation of various types of biological samples for mass spectrometry-based proteomic analysis.
